“I just attended a meeting that had representatives from all sorts of organizations. Lots of them were churches, but the Crisis Center, the Food Pantry, and the Johnson County Human Services were also there. We just talked about what we are all doing to serve people that need a little extra help. It was a great meeting. We were there for two hours. We talked a lot about food, but I feel like there’s also other needs. For example, somebody asked if anyone was doing budgeting classes for families.
I came away from that meeting feeling both inspired and a little bit overwhelmed. There’s so many things and we’re all trying, but we need to keep connecting and figuring out who is doing what and where the holes are.”
